I'll ask Jaskier. He usually winters in Oxenfurt, so he might not be willing to give up the pleasures of a city for a winter on a mountain.
[ The idea of getting Yenn and Jaskier in bed together is laughable. They're a bit better with each other now. but Geralt doubts that's something either of them would want. ]
They hate each other, and not in the way that they might fuck each other anyway.
[ ooc: I'm open to that! I also play Jaskier, so I can throw him into the mix too! ]
It sounded like a typical curse when Geralt agreed to the job. It seems as though no one has come out of the village of Vilnyk since the winter, and it’s been months. Everyone who has entered during that time has not been heard from since, including traveling merchants and those that have entered the town’s borders to find out what had occurred. It sounded like a simple curse, but the longer that Geralt has been here, the more complicated the situation is.
He’s never seen this kind of monster before in his life. He hasn’t even read about them. All he knows is that they’re incredibly deadly, and impossible for him to kill. They come out only at night, take on the form of friendly looking humans and try to convince the villagers to let them inside. If Geralt hadn’t tried to kill them already, he might think that they were a species of vampire but he’s tried to fight them using his knowledge of that particular type of undead but he’s not been successful yet.
If only he could spend some time researching, at Kaer Morhen, or Aretuza. Hell, even Oxenfurt would have been useful. But nothing can leave the village’s limits, and that includes messages of any kind. For all anyone knows, Geralt is dead, and no one will hear from him again.
When Geralt had first arrived, the village’s population had already been decimated. There were only a dozen or so villagers remaining. They’d managed to survive the nights by remaining as quiet as possible and hiding. It’s not something that they can maintain, but no one has found a solution yet. And Geralt has tried. He’s been trying. Every day he learns more about their foe, but he doesn’t have any idea of how to break the curse and set them all free.
He’s meditating now, spending a few hours before nightfall making sure he’s well rested enough to fight. Tomorrow, he’ll continue his search for clues.
